If you happen to be in Boracay from March 28 to May 3, Globe has something for both Globe and non-Globe (yet) subscriber.
I went to Boracay last Holy Week Holiday (April 2-4) and was surprised by this new product from Globe. Like most of you guys, I am actually waiting for Globe to release a physical card of GCash; and definitely this new GCash Mastercard is a lot more from my expectation. Packed with a lot of perks and discounts from their partner merchants, The new GCash Mastercard is a reloadable prepaid card where you can use to purchase in an instant by simply swiping it and signing on the transaction slip to pay.
More good things about the GCash MasterCard is that you don't have to maintain an Annual Daily Balance, no annual fee, no Maintaining balance, you can use it to pay at any online merchants accepting MasterCard and you can also use it to pay from 33million MasterCard merchant and withdraw cash from any ATM worldwide. Wow! Now that is really something.
For those customers who will purchase the GCash Mastercard in Boracay, they will be entitled to different perks and discounts for the Holy Week and LaBoracay weekend. I purchased my GCash Mastercard at the Sand Bar near Starbucks in Station 2 but you can also purchase it at Kalibo airport, Jetti Port Cagban, Jetti Port Caticlan, Boracay peninsula, Globe Store, D' Mall Rotonda, BPI Chalet or at Seagia.
To avail the new GCash MasterCard, you just need to present one (1) valid ID and your payment from two bundles:
Bundle 1: P75 (if you're an existing Globe/TM user)
Includes - GCash MasterCard; P25 cash-in amount; and a free waterproof pouch with passport
Bundle 2: P100 (if you're not a Globe/TM user)
Includes - GCash MasterCard; Globe Prepaid Sim with free GoALL15 (Unli texts to all networks, 30 minutes of calls to Globe/TM, 10MB of surfing. Valid for 2 days. (*Available in selected areas only.); P25 cash-in amount; and a free waterproof pouch with passport
The people from Globe will also be willing to help you on activating your card.
